How to get there?
Montenegro has two airports, Tivat and Podgorica, but the most popular option is to fly to Croatia's Dubrovnik airport, just 16km across the border. We strongly recommend booking early to get the best prices.
From the UK
Flights to Tivat and Podgorica
JAT Airways flies direct from Heathrow to Tivat during the summer months. Look at www.jat.com or call 0207 6292007 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for details. Alternatively, fly to Belgrade and get a connecting flight to Tivat or Podgorica with JAT or Montenegro Airlines. See www.montenegro-airlines.cg.yu for details.
Alternatively if looking for options to fly to Dubrovnik, British Airways www.ba.com and Croatia Airlines www.croatiaairlines.com are the two primary carriers offering year round routes.
Flights to Dubrovnik
Thomson flies to Dubrovnik from Manchester and London Luton between May and October and has some really great deals. Check what they have on offer at www.thomsonfly.com. Flybe has reasonably priced flights from Birmingham to Dubrovnik between May and October. Look for good deals at www.flybe.com.
Wizz Air and Easyjet have just begun operating new routes to Croatia and it's expected these will eventually expand to include Dubrovnik.
Monarch will also start flying charter flights this season direct to Tivat from the UK.
Concorde Travel is the first and currently only direct flight operator between Ireland and Montenegro. They have a direct flight from Dublin to Tivat every Sunday from June to September 2006.
Aer Lingus, operate direct flights between Dublin and Dubrovnik from the end of March to the end of October each year.
Other Irish package holiday companies offering seasonal flights to Dubrovnik include Sunway, Croatia Tours, Joe Walsh Holidays.
Outside the season you can book a British Airways flight from Ireland via Gatwick to Dubrovnik year round.
Other alternative options outside the season include flying to Rome, Vienna, Frankfurt and getting a connecting flight to Montenegro with Montenegro Airlines.
